Jonah Orion

Overview

Jonah Orion is the Chief Librarian of the Blood Ravens Chapter, a powerful psyker who served under Gabriel Angelos since the Tartarus campaign. As the sole survivor of a dozen Librarians, Navigators, and Astropaths who battled the Tyranid Hive Mind in the Warp, Orion bears both physical and psychic scars from the ordeal. Promoted to Chief Librarian after the Third Aurelian Crusade, he made it his mission to prevent heresy from breeding within the Chapter as it did under his predecessor Azariah Kyras. In Dawn of War IV, Orion co-leads the Blood Ravens' survivors alongside Cyrus on Kronus.

lore background

Former protégé of Isador Akios, who was corrupted by Chaos on Tartarus. Despite initial suspicion, Orion earned the trust of Captain Angelos and Chapter Master Kyras. During the Aurelian Crusade, he was the only survivor among twelve psykers who confronted the Tyranid Hive Mind as Angelos traveled to Aurelia. Thought killed during the Third Aurelian Crusade on Cyrene while battling Chaos forces to protect Angelos, Orion was later found alive in a Sus-an Membrane trance. Upon recovery, the newly-appointed Chapter Master Angelos promoted him to Chief Librarian.

campaign role

Co-leads the Blood Ravens survivors alongside Cyrus on Kronus in Dawn of War IV. The Blood Ravens, nearly driven to extinction after the Aurelian Crusades and the Acheron campaign, return to Kronus in a desperate fight for survival against Ork and Necron threats.

combat specialty

Powerful psyker equipped with a Force Staff and psychic tomes that grant various psychic abilities. Can also wield a Force Sword and plasma pistol. As Chief Librarian, he uses a Cherub-familiar to focus his considerable psychic power.
