Overview

Gorgutz 'Ead 'Unter is one of the most enduring characters in the Dawn of War series, having survived campaigns across Lorn V, Kronus, the Kaurava System, and Acheron. Known for taking the heads of his enemies—as his name implies, it would make no sense to put someone's foot on his 'pointy stikk'—Gorgutz returns in Dawn of War IV after his victory over the Kaurava System, now bigger and more fearsome than ever. Wearing a massive super armor exoskeleton, he can snap a Primaris Space Marine in half with ease. The Orks campaign opens with his devastating assault on the Blood Ravens' last battle barge, and he crashes his Rok into Kronus to pursue the fleeing survivors.

lore background

Originated as a Warboss on the planet Lorn V, where he united rival Ork tribes under his control. During the Lorn V campaign, he allied with and then killed Lord Crull, a World Eaters Chaos champion, claiming his head. After defeat on Lorn V, Gorgutz fled to Kronus and built a new Waaagh!, only to be defeated again—but escaped with more skulls on his stikk. He then conquered the entire Kaurava System as a staging point for galactic conquest, before appearing on Acheron seeking the Spear of Khaine. Gorgutz is the second longest-appearing character in the Dawn of War series, after Gabriel Angelos.

campaign role

The Orks campaign is the first of four campaigns in Dawn of War IV's chronological order, opening the return to Kronus. Gorgutz assaults the Blood Ravens' last battle barge, overwhelming their defenses with sheer brute force. He then crashes his Rok—a meteor filled with Orks and rockets—into Kronus to pursue the fleeing Space Marines. However, he is not the only Warboss on the planet; a native Kronus Warboss refuses to submit, creating a power struggle.
